Academic Integrity Policy

This Academic Integrity Policy explains where our help ends and your own work begins. It is a binding condition of using our service, and it forms part of our Terms & Conditions. Please read it before you book.

Tutorly is a tutoring business operated by Jahid Hassan, CFA, CFP, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We tutor accounting and finance for post-secondary students. Everything below comes down to a single line: we teach you the material — we do not do your work.

The one rule that matters

We help you understand and prepare. We will not complete, sit, write, or supply answers to any graded work your institution requires you to do yourself.

Every other section here is just detail on that one line.

What we will do

Explain concepts, step by step, until they actually click.
Work through practice problems and past exams alongside you.
Review your understanding, your notes, and the approach you’re taking.
Show you how to solve a type of problem, then watch you do the next one yourself.
Help you plan your studying and build exam technique.

In every case, the work you hand in stays yours — produced by you, in your own words and figures.

What we will not do

We will not, under any circumstances:

Complete or part-complete an assignment, problem set, lab or project that you will submit for a grade.
Sit, write, or take an online quiz, test, midterm or exam for you — or stay on a call feeding you answers while you do.
Write, ghost-write, or “fix up” an essay, report or piece of coursework that is meant to be your own work.
Supply answers to a take-home exam, graded online homework, or any assessment while it is live.
Tell you how to conceal any of the above from your institution.

This holds even if the work is worth only a few marks, even if “everyone does it”, and even if you offer to pay more. It is not negotiable.

Your responsibility to know the rules

Every institution — and often every course — sets its own academic-integrity rules about what outside help is allowed. Some permit tutoring freely, some ask you to acknowledge it, and some restrict it around specific assessments.

It is your responsibility to know what your institution’s rules say, and to stay inside them. We cannot know the rules of every school, program and professor, and we are not responsible for checking them for you. If you are unsure whether our help is permitted for a particular assessment, ask your instructor before you book — not after.

Grey areas, and how we handle them

Almost all of tutoring lives comfortably far from the line. Once in a while a request sits near it. Here is how we think about the common ones:

You ask…	Our answer
“Can you check the draft I’ve written?”	Usually yes. Giving feedback on work you produced is normal tutoring — unless your course specifically forbids outside help on that piece.
“Can we work through last year’s exam?”	Yes. Past papers are one of the best study tools there is.
“Can we do my take-home exam together?”	No, not while it’s live. A take-home is still an exam. We can cover the same material before it opens or after it closes.
“Can you just give me the answer so I can move on?”	We’ll help you get to the answer yourself. Handing you one to submit isn’t tutoring.

When in doubt, we err toward protecting you. If something feels like it crosses your institution’s line, we will stop and say so.

If you ask us to cross the line

If you ask us to do your graded work, or to help you breach your institution’s rules, we will:

Say no, and explain why.
End the session immediately if you press it — and the session is charged in full.
Decline to work with you again, at our discretion.

We would far rather lose a booking than put your academic standing — and our name — at risk.

Contract cheating and file-sharing sites

We are a tutoring service, not an essay mill or a homework-answer site, and we will never act as one.

The materials we give you — worked examples, notes, templates, recordings — are for your personal study only. Uploading them to Course Hero, Chegg, Studocu, Quizlet or any similar platform, or passing them around a group chat, breaches our Terms and may itself be an academic-integrity offence at your school. If your institution asks about you

If your institution’s academic-integrity office contacts us about you, we will not disclose your session records without your consent, unless we are legally required to — for example, under a court order or subpoena.

It cuts the other way too: if you are accused of misconduct and it would help to confirm what we actually worked on together, just ask. We will tell the truth about the help we gave. Honest tutoring has nothing to hide.

Why we hold this line

Not to be difficult. Because the entire point of tutoring is that you walk away able to do the thing yourself — in the exam room, in the interview, on the job. Work we do for you teaches you nothing and risks everything. We are not willing to trade your learning, or your record, for a short-cut.

How this fits with our other policies
